The government has once again increased the prices of petroleum products, petrol by Rs 2 and diesel by Rs 1.44 per liter. The new prices will be applicable from July 1.
I had proposed to increase the price of petrol by Rs 6 and high-speed diesel by Rs 3 per liter from July 1.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on the proposal of OGRA approved an increase in the price of petrol by Rs 2 and diesel by Rs 1.44 per liter. The new prices will be applicable from July 1 (tonight at 12 noon). Petrol became Rs 112.70 per liter after an increase of Rs 2.
Shahbaz Gul said in his Twitter message that OGRA had proposed an increase of Rs 6.5 per liter on petrol and Rs 3.44 per liter on diesel.
It may be recalled that the federal government had also increased the price of petrol by Rs 2.13 per liter on June 15, after which its price was Rs 110.70.
