Petition filed in the Supreme Court for ban on Tik-Tok - Today GD News

An application has been filed in the Supreme Court to ban the short video-sharing app Tik-Tok.

The petition was filed by five other citizens, including Mian Ali Zeb. The Federal PTA, Ministry of Information Technology, and PEMRA have been made parties in the petition.

The petitioner requested that a new policy be formulated by banning Tik-Tok and ordering the government to set up a regulatory mechanism to curb immoral content.

The text states that Article 31 of the Constitution guarantees an Islamic way of life in the country. The young generation is being misled by Tik-Tok.

Immoral and obscene material is being spread through Tik-Tok. Tik-Tok is temporarily banned in various countries, including the United States, India, and Bangladesh.

The petitioner said that the Peshawar High Court had ordered a ban on Tik-Tok. There have been several deaths due to Tik-Tok bites.

The appellant has taken the position that legislation contrary to the Qur'an and Sunnah cannot be enacted in Pakistan. Freedom of expression law is being abused through Tik-Tok.
